Project Scope
The City of Suwanee, Georgia had an outdated building it leased to Gwinnett County for Fire Station 13, located across from Town Center Park. A partnership saw the potential of this building for adaptive reuse and hired Axis to help transform this rather unremarkable structure into not only a production brewery and tasting room but also a new amenity and gathering space for the city.
Axis designed the renovation of the 8,700-square-foot building to take advantage of as much of the existing building’s exterior and shell as possible while clearing the interior to create an integrated brewery and tasting room featuring a walk-in cooler with a wraparound bar. The 20-barrel brewing system is visible from the tasting room through a floor-to-ceiling glass wall. New overhead glass doors open to a city park and gathering space. The outdoor covered and open seating area more than doubles StillFire’s patron capacity. Brewery design also features roughed-in kitchen space for a future food-service tenant.
