Axis was hired by Keith Young to develop and design FUTURE – a cabaret, restaurant, and dance club. The project is part of the new Underground project in downtown Atlanta. The two-story, 14,000 SF space occupies block four of the four-block downtown development.

The project involved combining three existing (previously used) retail spaces to create one big restaurant and entertainment space. The existing businesses occupied different floors and were not previously used for food preparation. The two upper spaces were joined to create one large dining room area with a kitchen. New steel stairs were added to connect the upper and lower spaces. The downstairs space gained its own kitchen, bar, and dining room along with space for entertainment. The project brought infrastructure challenges for MEP, which required significant research of older drawings, with basements and crawl space walk-downs, to determine and ideal location for plumbing and HVAC duct lines and tie-ins.
